standing with women - sustainability program
Women in Coffee
The Women in Coffee program is one-of-a-kind ethical sourcing model committed to ending the cycle of poverty affecting women coffee farmers across the Manica area.
Thousands of women with one powerful crop - coffee
Women in remote and rural coffee communities face a host of challenges that keep them trapped in poverty. Many of these isolated women live in male- dominated societies and have very little financial control or decision-making power.
In 2019, a large group of women in the Chimanimani area were given teh chance to change this dynamic, providing them with an additional crop – coffee.

our coffee stands with women and their future
Through participating in the Woman in Coffee program, women across the our project have noted many positive cultural changes, including recognition for the work they do in their home and farm, reductions in emotional abuse, substantial increase in family revenues, and many more.
Giving women farmers a voice
”A farmer here, Maria, has a new granddaughter who is 3 days old. Because of Manica Coffee, her granddaughter will live in a community that respects women. This little girl’s life will be different because she’ll have access to education the same as her brother. Maria is proud that she herself has played an important role in creating a community where her granddaughter will have more opportunities.”
